Parent & Family Compact 26-27

Each school that receives Title I, Part A funding must work together with parents to create a School-Parent Compact, which is a written agreement explaining how the school, parents, and students will share the responsibility for supporting student learning and helping every child succeed. As part of the school’s Parent and Family Engagement Plan, the compact outlines what the school will do to support learning, what parents can do at home, how students will take responsibility for their own learning, and how families and the school will partner to help children meet the state’s academic standards. The goal of the compact is to ensure that everyone understands their role in helping students achieve their best.

Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s challenging State academic standards.

Hold parent-teacher conferences (at least annually in elementary schools) during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.

Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress.

Provide parents with reasonable access to staff.

Provide parents with opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class, and to observe classroom activities.

Ensure regular two-way, meaningful communication between family members and school staff that is, to the extent practicable, in a language that family members can understand.

Our parents will set high standards for their children, including doing weekly checks on student progress and communicating with teachers when problems arise. Our parents will ensure that all students are provided with equitable technology at home including asking for a MiFi hotspot if needed for their child to complete work at home. Parents will monitor their child's use of social media and ensure they are getting an appropriate amount of sleep each night in order to be awake, alert, and ready to learn each day at school.
